Knotty7: Sail Date
If you cannot view the video click this link:
https://youtu.be/CMNKhIhtzVw
Capt. Kim and I had a great sail date yesterday (6/28/2015)
We sailed at a top speed of 7.1 kts at one point. It was a beautiful summer day around 85 degrees with a nice south westerly wind.
A summer storm rolled in right on top of us. Kim sat out in the cockpit at the helm watching to make sure we didn't drag or the anchor did not give way due to the winds.

Summer Computer Programming with Khan Academy
During the Summer, Blayne is taking a computer programming class through the e-learning site KhanAcademy. He may just be the next Steve Jobs one day!! I'm so proud of him for taking up something he loves to do and working hard at it.
Check out his latest program he made using Java Script language.
If you cannot see the program playing below go to this link>>>http://www.khanacademy.org/computer-programming/seadragon/6414101305753600

My Muse
My Muse...
So there is this bird that has a nest in one of the palms nearby.
It sings early starting at the break of dawn and until the sun caresses the horizon.
I listen to his songs like they are nature's own Pandora station.
His sweet music, so upbeat and happy. He's happy just singing away.
I love how nature makes you feel when you take the time to step back and listen....

Galley Foods, Gadgets and Books
Hi everyone!!
I have been busily building up a collection of links and info on galley foods and gadgets to use while living aboard.
It can really get boring fixing sandwiches or eating out of a can all the time so I have begun my hunt for the best tasting recipes and most practical gadgets to use when living in such a small space to cook and with not much refrigeration/freezer space.
With some smart meal planning and close attention to the budget it all can be done and with a bonus you can do it while being healthy.
We all know sailing can take a lot of strength and being out on the water or on the dock in the heat long hours/days can take a lot out of you.
To stay strong you need lots of protein and fresh natural foods such as lean meats, beans, veggies and fruits also lots of water to keep you hydrated.
(Look for my smoothy, slushy and blender drink recipes soon)
You can find that collection on our page "The Galley"

In the Galley Tonight
Tonight on the menu:
Boneless Country Style BBQ Pork Ribs
With Roasted Potatoes and
Tossed Salad.
I love using my Nesco 5qt roaster/slow cooker while we are here at the dock. It is great for one pot meals , takes up not so much space , and does not heat up the galley too much.
Also, you can cook practically all day long and have dinner ready and waiting while we are doing other things!
This is a simple dish to prepare and only a few key ingredients. Most of the ingredients for this recipe you can find already in your pantry/cupboards.
